We aim to give the students the knowledge, skills and confidence to approach cooking as an enjoyable experience with the pleasure of sharing their dining table with family and friends.
The Olive Tree Cooking School will provide a source of hands-on training in both basic skills and advanced cooking techniques to satisfy the needs of both beginners through to experienced home cooks.
The school is programmed on a two-tier level:
• Basic Skills Course
This course will cover knife handling skills, kitchen organisation and preparation as well as the main fundamental methods of cookery, giving the students the skills to read, interpret and understand most recipes and the ingredients that go to make up those recipes.
• Specialty Unit Classes
Advanced skills in individual elements of the menu from Hors d'Oeuvres at the start of the meal to Petits Fours at the end. Some of these include Seafood Cookery, Poultry and Game, Cakes and Pastries, BBQ Boot Camp and Festive Occasions as well as Fast and Healthy for the working people.
